GEORGETOWN (June 23, 2009) – The GTA Amateur Tour returned to North Halton G&CC today to play the B-C Flight’s eighth event of the season: The Howard Johnson Challenge. The Tour’s competitors once had absolutely fabulous conditions to compete in today with warm summer temperatures and sunshine all day. The perfect conditions left the scoring entirely up to the players, and made for some close competition with a three-way B Flight playoff, and a back-to-back win for C Flighter Brad Golden.

Georgetown (June 2, 2009) – The GTA Amateur Tour was at North Halton G&CC today to play the eighth event of the season: The Howard Johnson Challenge. Sixty-seven players competed today in hot, sunny conditions on the Georgetown-area course. Designed in 1914, the North Halton G&CC features some traditional course style that demands a lot of precision shots from those who play it, and today was no different. Today’s two champions managed to play a controlled game that led to a sub-seventy Championship Flight score, and one of this season’s lowest A Flight scores.

COLLINGWOOD (June 16, 2009) – The Greater Toronto Area Amateur Tour was in Collingwood this week to play the seventh event of the season: The TaylorMade Open. Oslerbrook GC hosted the B and C Flights on Monday. The Championship and A Flight competed on Tuesday at The Raven at Lora Bay. Near-perfect weather graced 123 competitors over the course of the two days. Close competition highlighted each day with four new champions eventually emerging victorious.

LAKEFIELD (June 9, 2009) – The Greater Toronto Area Amateur Tour was in Lakefield today to play The Kawartha Shootout. All four flights – 127 players – competed in today’s event, making it the largest field of the season. The McBroom designed course has played host to some terrifically competitive golf over in the past; has always become a player favourite for its immaculate conditions, and today did not disappoint with players competing in ideal conditions. Tight scoring and close competition highlighted today’s round with some of the lowest scores of the season.
